Cycle Zydeco 2014

Cycle Zydeco is a fully supported, 4-day bicycle ride celebrating Zydeco, Cajun, and Creole music and food.  The ride draws people from all over the United States and abroad to Acadiana to enjoy our world-renowned food, music and natural beauty in addition to our Louisiana hospitality.  Cycle Zydeco participants will experience the area’s “joie de vivre” as they meander through Acadiana.  Departing from Lafayette on Thursday, April 24, 2014, the route goes through the friendly communities of St. Martinville, Breaux Bridge, Henderson, Arnaudville, Opelousas, Mamou, and Eunice before returning to Lafayette on Sunday, April 27, 2014. There will be lots of things along the way to see and do, so take your time, have fun, and enjoy all of the attractions in this beautiful area.  Before dancing the night away, you will be able to sample some of the best local food in the country, listen to live music under the Evangeline Oak, watch for alligators in the Atchafalaya Basin, visit a crawfish processing plant, sample local beer, enjoy a drink with Tante Sue at Fred’s, and listen to some toe-tapping music at The Liberty Theatre.  Festival International coincides with Cycle Zydeco this year and our opening dinner/party will allow you to experience one of the best music festivals in the world. Cycle Zydeco is promoted and managed by TRAIL (Transportation Recreation Alternatives in Louisiana) in conjunction with Lafayette Convention & Visitors Center, St. Martin Parish Tourist Commission and St Landry Parish Tourist Commission. TRAIL is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining parks, paths and trails for hiking, walking, running, kayaking, biking and canoeing. Registration for CZ2014 is open.  There are 5 levels of registration:  4 for riders and 1 for non-riders.  There is no difference in what is included with the ride between the levels of registration.  The levels are a simple method to give us an idea of everyone lodging plans so we can coordinate shuttles as & to assure adequate space.   Pick whichever bests fit’s your situation, IF YOU HAVE NO PLANS YET JUST PICK ONE.  For instance, if you have an RV or will be staying at a friend’s house in New Iberia and plan on using the daily shuttles from Lafayette to the ride each day then select “Staying in Lafayette hotel & shuttle”.  If you are camping some nights and staying in a hotel other nights just pick the one registration option that best fits the type of lodging. 2013 Itinerary *Note, this is last year’s itinerary and will be different for 2014 HOW TO REGISTER:
