Bayou Vermilion Paddle Battle

* 12 miles -BVD North Landing (3604 Shadow Bluff Dr. under I-10) to Café 20.3
Bayou Vermilion Paddle Battle’s 35 mile race is the second race of the Louisiana Triple Crown series. The first race of the series is the Ouachita River 49er and concludes with the Tour du Teche .
Open to all human powered boats.

SCHEDULE:
7:00 AM - Day of registration, check-in & boat check at BVD North Landing under I-10 (3604 Shadow Bluff Dr. Lafayette, LA)
8:00 AM - Start time for the 35 & 12 mile race from BVD North Landing
11:00 AM –1 PM - beverages for all registered participants at Café 20.3
11:00 AM - Trash turn for Litter Critters @ Café 20.3
11:30AM - Awards for Litter Critters & 12 mile race
2:00 PM - Start of Awards ceremony 35-mile race @ Vermilion Boat Ramp (308 Veterans Memorial Dr., Abbeville, LA)
Support & Cheering Stations:
Here are some key locations where you can coordinate your own support team to meet you on the course to provide you with any food or water you may need. We’ll try to get you a list. of spots.
Mandatory Equipment List:
Suitable boat and paddle
Cell telephone in waterproof container
PFD Type I, II, III, or V (inflatable) – USCG approved. See Rule 12.
Audible signaling device (pealess type whistle or airhorn)
Adequate boat flotation, capable of floating while swamped
Recommended Equipment List:
Emergency Blanket – Mylar Foil Type
Mosquito repellant
Sunscreen
Sun glasses
Extra batteries for lights
Proper clothing including hat
Plenty of water and food
Rain gear
Multiple power sources for cell phone
White light or lights visible for 360 degrees.
One flashlight per paddler.

Classes for 35 mile race to compete in Louisiana Triple Crown
Pro Race Division (classes used for all triple crown races)
CLASS A- USCA C 2 /PRO (USCA SPECS)
CLASS B- USCA C2/PRO (USCA SPECS ) ALL FEMALE
All two person canoes that can race at the USCA nationals and that include the following boat specifications 3X27 (Pro-Boat), 4X32 (USCA cruiser), and USCA Standard C2. Single blade paddle only. Temporary modifications to this type of boat to make it fit into any other class are not allowed.
CLASS C- solo unlimited single blade
CLASS D- solo unlimited single blade female
Limited to one paddler, single blade paddles only. Minimum length 14 feet.
CLASS E- tandem unlimited single blade
CLASS F- tandem unlimited single blade female
E&F limited to two paddlers. USCA C2s do not qualify for this class. USCA C2s must race in class A. For canoes longer than 18.5 foot.
CLASS G- solo unlimited double or single blade CLASS H- solo unlimited double or single blade female
G&H limited to one paddler, minimum length 14 feet.
CLASS I- tandem unlimited double or single blade CLASS J -tandem unlimited double or single blade female
I&J limited to two paddlers, minimum length 14 feet.
CLASS K- big boat unlimited double or single blade
CLASS L- big boat unlimited double or single blade female
CLASS M- solo SUP
